Planning estimates, not quotes
These are typical, broad planning estimates for common project types, not quotes or a promise of available pricing. This is not a survey of current Phoenix bids. The ranges below are editorial estimates, not a measured local average or an attributed outside source.
| Project | Planning estimate |
|---|---|
| Plain concrete driveway | $8–$16 per square foot |
| Plain concrete patio | $8–$15 per square foot |
| Stamped concrete | $12–$24 per square foot |
| Surface overlay / resurfacing | $3–$8 per square foot |
What the ranges assume
New plain concrete estimates assume a residential slab with a basic finish and ordinary site access. Stamped estimates allow for a decorative finish. Resurfacing assumes an existing slab suitable for an overlay. Actual design, thickness, reinforcement and preparation need an on-site assessment.
Do not assume demolition, haul-away, deep excavation, caliche removal, drainage changes, engineering, permits, taxes or unusual access are included. Small jobs can cost more per square foot because delivery, travel and setup do not shrink with the area. Structural slabs, foundations, walls and major repairs need their own scope.
What changes a Phoenix quote?
- Ground and access. Caliche, unstable fill, narrow gates or a long route from the truck can change preparation and placement costs.
- Summer conditions. Pour timing, delivery coordination and the curing plan may affect scheduling and cost.
- Old concrete. Removal, disposal, hidden thickness and base repairs belong in the written scope.
- Finish and shape. Borders, steps, curves, color, stamping and sealing add choices beyond area.
- Drainage and approvals. Ask what work and fees the quote includes for your property.
Repair is not one square-foot price
A small crack repair, lifting a settled section and covering a sound slab have different costs. Minimum charges and the cause of the damage can matter more than area. Ask for a project price and the limits of the proposed repair.
Compare quotes line by line
Give each contractor the same size, intended use and finish. Ask each to list site work, slab details, joints, curing, cleanup, exclusions and payment stages. Check their ROC license at roc.az.gov before hiring. A lower total may leave out work that another quote includes.
